Clinging with deep claws.
Shadows of yesterday lingering close behind,
forgotten memories emerging from the past,
unveiling from the haunting darkness where they once were.

Destroying hope and fantasies.
Once forgotten pain now feels so raw,
Tears of distress and anxiety resurfacing from the gloominess.

Nagging at my feet, and tapping me on the shoulder.
Bleak and merciless, they whisper into my ear.
Mirroring me with every step,
Too stubborn to let go.

Absorb the light with their murkiness,
A constant worry over my head.
Trickle into my mind and seep into my brain,
Abandoning everything but emptiness.

Consumed by the uncertainty,
Dreams faded, no sign of hope.
No light at the end of the tunnel,
Only lost in the darkness of the shadows.
