First we smile
Because of the joy we have to be together.
Then we laugh
Because I try on a poofy, feathery pink dress
And she tries on a sexy dress and rolls her eyes when I call her that.
Then we get irritated
Because I want to go to Forever 21
And she wants to go to Anne Taylor
It’s irritating
Because we want to spend time
Together…
I guess the irritation is actually
Sweet
Sincere
Silly.
Sweet because we want to spend time together
Sincere because our actions are different than our thoughts
And silly because irritation comes from sadness
Sadness of a new chapter
College.
But even I will go away
I will come back
To be with my mom
Doing the thing we love to do together
