We were young
We were free
We were beautiful,
Now it’s years later,
We are different now
Do you still love me?
I’m not the same
Do you still think I’m pretty?
I’m getting older
I still love you,
you are still the same to me
We danced
Without thinking,
We sang
Like nobody was listening
What happened
What are we now
Do you still love me?
I’m not the same
Do you still think I’m pretty?
I’m getting older
I still love you,
you are still the same to me

my English teacher let us free write poems while listening to music because, he says that music can be very inspiring. This brings me to my second poem, “Do You Still Love Me?”. The song “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey is what inspired this poem. The topic of the poem is when relationships go on for a long time, they start to not believe their partner loves them anymore. In my poem, the women reminisces on her and her husband early years as a couple. Because they are different, she questions whether or not her husband loves her the same way she loves him.
