14:15 Paris
Your eyes open
Sitting in a train
While the train sits in a oddly lit tunnel; harsh & garish
No recollection of how you arrived here, no recollection at all
You are not alone on this train, yet you are
You see no familiar faces
Glancing out the window you notice the tunnel,
It is long and winding, other tunnels carving into it
Shooting off in as many directions as there are stars
You take notice of the stones that make up the tunnel now
Reaching out you touch it, frigid damp & smooth
Look even closer now
The walls are lined with times and places
Times and places strewn across the labyrinth of tunnels
No names though, never names
Now the engine is slowly starting
You can feel the jerk of the train as it shifts into motion
Now you must write on the wall
Everyone must write on the wall
Arms stretching and contorting outwards, just to leave some mark on a wall
Some of them write where they are going
Others where they have been
They write using pens, paint, markers, some even carve into the wall with stones
You have nothing
You reach out as far as you can
Latching on to a barely intact scrap of charcoal
You manage to write just before the train leaves
14:15 Paris
More than that
You managed something no one else had
You managed to write your name
