Cancer
As the long sun sets on the bay
You took my family away
I cannot express my feelings of hatred for you
But you made me say adieu
As Uncle Harold found out about your presence last year
My once sparkly eyes dimmed and slowly shed a tear
Karen found out long ago
Her curly blonde hair fell to chemo
Her legacy will always live on
While I always remember her coupon
Harold’s glasses corrode as he does
While Chistopher, my best friend, watches over us
The Packers streak down the field as Christopher painfully sits
His mother seeing his long-missed happiness is struck with bliss
I saw him just before
He was excited to see Brett Favre, whom he adored
As he slowly walked away, I didn’t know what to say
Little did I know, this time I saw him, would be the last day
Christopher’s helmet corrodes as he does
While Karen, my beautiful aunt, watches over us
She always was one for the cool
While as a four year old, I was in her pool
She was suffering the whole time I knew her
And I didn’t know it[a]
Her bravery let her refrain from showing it
My Paw Paw is who you have started to take
But you’d better hope you stop
For your sake
