Favorite Quote:
"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities."
--Dr. Seuss

Summer days spent driving by
Captivated, you and I
And that old green sweatshirt of mine
And that flannel shirt of yours
And wrapped up in yours arms
The night was cold
But you kept me warm
And we were just lying there
Staring at the sky

Shooting stars flying high
Wishing for you and I
And those dark brown eyes of mine
And those sweet blue eyes of yours
And looking right at you
and I love you
And you love me
We were just staying there
For eternity

Early mornings spent half awake
Curling up, you and I
And those silly fears of mine
And those perfect dreams of yours
The rain was cold
But your bed was warm
And we were just sleeping there
So happily

Shooting stars flying by
Whispering, you and I
And that old green sweatshirt of mine
And that flannel shirt of yours
And wrapped up in your arms
The ground was cold
But you kept me warm
And we were just lying there
Staring at the sky

To me this is a bittersweet poem, because it has so many good things in it, and everything seems so perfect...but it is told in the past tense because even when things seem perfect, sometimes they have to end.
