what more do you want from me?
maybe I should scream
“I LOVE YOU”
from the top of some rooftops -
would you listen to me,
then?
should I write it in the sky,
for everyone to see -
maybe then,
you won’t think it’s a lie.
(I just don’t know what else to try.)
(or would it be more effective
if I whispered it aloud,
in the middle of the night,
long after you fall asleep -
maybe then,
just then,
it would seep into your mind,
and you could find it in your heart
to believe me.)
