The Rush of Dancing
The feeling of my feet
Hitting the cold, wooden floor
Gently swaying around the room
A people clap and beg for more.
Yielding just for moment
To let the moves sink in,
I glance to the crowd and smile
Then continue dancing.
Step after step
Beat after beat
The music soon takes control
Of the rhythm in my feet.
Let the sounds of the instruments
Float into your years
For the music and dance
Will take away any fears.
The rush of performing
Flushes over my soul and mind,
The center of attention
I leave all of my thoughts behind.
