lonely flower
One lonely flower stood
Alone
In the dry meadow.
The wind roared
Rocking the flower in its place
It could fall
Its fragile stem could break
And end it
But it stood there
Blowing in the wind
Taking it
Refusing
To give in, to break
It seemed to go on forever
For a while
All it did
Was wave in the wind
It took the pain
Fighting
To be free
To live
And just when it tried to give in
To give into the pain
It would hurt less if it did
The wind stopped
Let the flower be.
Again the flower stood
Letting the warm,
Relaxing,
Sun to glow on its pedals
Then the sun
Was blocked by a cloud
Dark, stormy clouds
And just then
The rain fell
Kissing the flower
Ever so gently
Letting the flower
Thrive…
Live…
In peace
