No Peace of Mind

Alone,
In the dark,
Of the cold night,
Wept tears,
Glow grievously,
In the soft light of the moon.
Alone,
In my thoughts,
Revealing epiphanies of sadness,
Friends no more,
Heart shattered into nothing,
Hollow in place of love and kindness.
Alone,
In the strife-filled world,
Tundra of lost dreams and hopes,
Empty yet again,
Mind drawn to a blank,
Longing to feel wanted once more.
Alone,
In the fake promises,
Friendships of yesterday and tomorrow,
Wandering for truth,
Yet finding none,
Leaving diamonds for worn pebbles.
