The voices surround me
Wave after wave
Crash around me
Time after time again.
A scathing remark
Cuts through the still.
I speak out in defense
All eyes turn to me.
But They, they don’t See me
They do not see Me
They do Not see me
They See Me Not
I see them.
“What makes you think
We care?”
I shrug, but not in defeat.
A thought
High & Clear
‘What makes you think
I do?’
A penny for my thoughts?
They’re worth more than that.
