Alexis
Happy and smiling,
That’s how I saw you in the short time I had to know you
Not once did I notice anything wrong
Until it was too late
You were gone, just like that
One day we are at the boys and girls club,
doing our makeup after I get out of swimming,
The next I’m at your funeral,
Comforting your sister as she cries on my shoulder
I have no idea what you were thinking that day,
But I wish I did.
I want to know why you did it
Everyone has stories, what they think happened,
But none of them knows; only you do
But now I will never have the chance to see your smile,
To hold your hand, laugh with you. To ask you why
Every day I think of you, wondering what life would be like
If you were still here with us, to share all the new laughs,
All the new memories, all the new smiles
Every time I wear that sweater you gave me, I think of you, miss you even more,
Because you gave it to me on the last time I ever saw you,
Sometimes I even wonder if you already knew what you were going to do
I think of that I Love You every day,
Because it is the last thing you ever said to me,
Over that one last conversation on facebook
I look at that one picture almost every day,
Because it was the only one
that you ever let me take of you
Even now, almost a year later I think of you,
Miss you, wish you had made different choices that day
