Cobalt
And the stars so loved the evening sky.
Their radical romance blessed the Earth as one.
A cobalt kiss at Midnight.
A happily ever after paved over with innocence,
Illuminating our world with constant reminders
That there is hope.
The stars so loved the ocean,
The loveliest shade of sorrow.
The depth, the haunting gloom.
A ripple, a stream, interrupted by a reflection.
The city lights caved in,
An alternate universe.
And the moon so loved the stars,.
Crystal chandelier in a suede ballroom.
Light suspended together,
For an eternity.
Sharing a delicate, sacred bond.
A constant reminder that somehow,
we are one.
Sometimes we are a charade,
Merely pieces in a spherical game.
And yet we refuse to love each other.
We fear the bond,
We crave only our own self-worth.
We are parasites,
we kill.
Hate fueled words pollute our air.
Suffocating.
Turning our hearts the darkest shade of
Blue.
