The Happiest Soul You Would Have Thought

She smiles a lot,
Laughs a lot
The happiest soul,
You would have thought,

But behind that smile,
Behind closed doors,
She lies on the tiles,
Her emotions she pours,

She's confused,
She's sad,
She's exhausted,
She's mad,

Put yourself in her shoes,
How would you feel?
Not knowing what's wrong?

She doesn't talk,
She watches,
And she walks,
Her emotions she patches,

The happiest soul,
You would have thought,

She's too confused,
She believes she deserves pain,
Oh the blood,
A blade can gain,

Her daily struggle,
She battles,
With no one by her,
She stumbles,

It's too late,
The happiest soul,
You would have thought,
Has gone too soon,

Put yourself in their shoes,
How would it feel?
Not knowing what's wrong?

The author's comments:
I have been depressed, have self-harmed and just confused about my emotions. It's lonely dark and I felt completely worthless. So this poem was written to get everyone to be considerate to others before its too late. You will never truly know what they have been through.
