like a mirror

shattered promises
broken dreams
like a mirror
brought bad luck
got too attached
trust was no longer an option
crushed, over and over
promises, they meant nothing now
thinking back on life
saw what was done wrong
wishes for it to be fixed
too late
it was too late
too late to be saved
waited for a savior
never came
they never came
lost trust
couldn't believe others
sorry meant sympathy
sympathy couldn't be taken
kindness was rejected
never accepted
a new life
it was on the horizon
took the chance
didn't regret
