My Life as Seen by Me

When you and I first met, I never imagined what you would come to mean to me. The day as clear blue to me as the memory. I still feel the cold winter breeze. And I recall what it was like to meet for the first time. Now soft music plays in the air. When it temporarily stops, so does the twirling colors. Cameras flashes, laughter is heard, this is a night to remember. "Mommy,"I cry into a pillow,"please come back." My eyes water and I involuntary fall to my knees. Those four months lasted a lifetime. "--- positive." I run away in anger and fear. But if you look now that red ribbon is proudly displayed to show things are okay. If you ask I won't deny. I can not change or cure the past. -In English III we had to write a poem using 4 events from our life. The first event is when I met my current boyfriend, when I went to prom with my ex(I was with the guy I am with now and the whole event is written in an ironic sarcastic attitude). The last two are about my mom. As some of you may already know, my mom is a very big apart of my life as she is all I've ever had. The third event describes when she went away to prison for 4 months in '12. The last one is the most frequently asked about. It's about my mom telling me she had tested positive for HIV. I wrote another poem called 'Dear Santa' about it. Yes, the red ribbon is for HIV/AIDS awareness. I am proud to wear that ribbon literally and figuratively. I love you mom!!!
