Wretched
Little bird of the night
You are such a dreadful thing
Sitting on a crooked branch
Dancing in the howling wind
With
Soulless eyes
That harbor darkened skies
Little song bird dark as night
With your eyes so dim
Why do you poison
On a whim
Tainted feathers spread through the night
And clenching talons lay on the virgin flesh
Your
Poisoned beak from which toxins spill
Never tasted as sweet
And still your poison songs do leak
Into the starless night
Such a wretched thing you are
Little songbird
But aaah
How sweet your toxins are
~
Little blue bird
Little blue jay
How I love to watch you play
Your soft little feathers fell from the sky
Catching sight
Chasing you
Through the never ending skies
Seeking
But never reaching
Your promise of comfort
Little blue bird
With bright eyes
What do you see
When you look at me?
I'm sorry to disturb you
During the sunny hours of the day
But maybe sometime
I can join you in your play
Oh little songbird
How I long to reach you
In the sunny haze
