Dark Thoughts
Dark thoughts chase each other in my mind
They are beautifully dark
Beautifully silent and all knowing
My eyes are blinded by silence
My ears flood with the absence of sound
My soul sings songs my ears can not understand
My heart paints pictures with the wind
My body is forgotten, yet my senses remain
My lungs breathe my thoughts
And my mind takes hold of them
It twists them until they are undecipherable
Yet I find haven in them
The world is dark and beautiful
I lock the memory of it deep within me
And use it in times of distress
I search for words
I search for music
I search for pictures
But nothing can bridge the gap between reality and my soul
It is indescribable
I wrap myself in its purity
And the world cannot touch me
I lock myself in my solitude
And pretend to have a superior understanding
Of a broken world
Yet I do
My mind is superior for it cannot be compared to another
I am the only person who can dwell in my head
And I can never dwell in another
I lock myself in my solitude
