burnt out
Bombs and destruction
Death and war
What in the world are we fighting for?
Whatever happened to peace, love, and happiness?
Whatever happened to “Give peace a chance”?
Gone are the days
We could leave our doors unlocked,
Gone are the days
We could safely walk around alone,
Feel safe in a big city
Even if you call it home.
What happened to all the good people?
Who had morals and values?
Where did they go?
All I’m asking for is a little hope.
A Hope that one day we’ll be that way again...
Look around, look what we’ve become...
What happened to the music?
What happened to the love?
Now music is about nothing but
Sex and drugs
Smoking and thugs
Stealing and killing
Prostitution and blood spilling
Partying and dancing all night long
Doing nothing but wrong
Remember the Beatles, Zeppelin and Bob Dylan too;
Remember their words were a message for you.
Over time the message has sent away
The message’s been lost
The message’s been faded, like old blue jeans.
The message’s been tossed, away...
Now is the time to make a change again.
Or else… all music will soon be dead.
