She and I
Her love
was like some great
new discovery,
that brought out
an obsession from somewhere
deep within me,
an obsession I did not
attempt to understand,
nor care to understand.
Anytime a separation
was forced upon us,
I did not know
how to control
the great sadness I felt,
away from
the one who did not pass
judgement on my soul
and fed me beautiful
words
that I lived
to hear pour like fine English tea
from her youthful
ambitions.
And my innocence
and dedication to her presence
put a beautiful ray of light
inside her,
that I watched grow
without being aware of it
until my own darkness
grew from enduring
the hardships
of being a man
separated from his
light.
