I Hear Nature Singing
I hear nature singing, the distant sounds I hear,
Those of animals, each one tweeting as they should
be sleeping,
The bird chirping as he awakes to the day,
The babies crying as they wait for their mother
to return
The owl hooting and watching for his prey, the mouse
running from him,
The cow mooing as he eats his grass, filling his stomach
each bite,
The bird’s song, the deer’s on his way in the morning,
or at noon intermission or at sundown,
The tasteful singing of the cafes mom, or the young rabbit
at work, or the cat bathing
The day what belongs to the animal—at night they sleep
light, friendly, softly, quietly
