A Dream of Reality
Solid or liquid, red or green, how can I tell reality from a dream?
When in a dream, I do not know, for everything seems so right.
Once awoken, how can I know? For my perception is only sight.
When asleep and then awake, I base reality on what is fake, yet when awake and then asleep, I have no need to base what is on what used to be.
You cannot go from one room to another if the door you just left through was but an abyss, so when your eyes are closed and then they open, does that suffice to prove that before you did not exist?
So what if this all was but a dream, a complex fiction, though real it seems?
What if life was always dead-a dream I made up in my head?
But now is life forever void because I dreamt a dream that I lived instead…?
