Caring for a beautiful creature

A lizard looked at me with its small eyes.
He looked so helpless, green, red, and shy.
"Why are you so scared little one?" I asked.
"A human stepped on my leg," he said.
"Your leg?" I looked it was bleeding and swollen.
I did not see who would do such a thing to this beautiful creature.
A lizard that wouldn't hurt anything or anyone.
Taking him home and caring for him, I made it fun.
I stayed with him 24/7 until he got better.
Now he's back healthy living happy ever after.
