My Dad

His laughing gentle
Eyes welcome you
Into his kindness
And warmth,
His arms create
A familiar sanctuary
When the scary
Outside world
Gets too much
For me to handle,
His smile
Assures me
That everything
Will be alright,
His hands
Lift up my chin
When my head
Is hung so low
That I cant
See the good
Things right in
Front of me,
My dad is
The type of
Person I want
To be like,
My role model,
Laughing gentle eyes,
Familiar and safe arms,
Assuring smile,
And
Guiding hands,
Make my dad
A great
Father.
