Room 4561
Fluorescent bulbs glare
Four white walls.
Stenches of bleach and blood smother the air.
Tight sheets cover a disheveled body.
Silence pours through the room
Except the constant drip of an IV.
Her colorless face,
covered in lacerations and bruises.
No motivation, knowing this is the last chance.
All she can hear are apologies,
his soft touch in her hand.
Feeling warmth on her lips
it's his final goodbye.
Quietly still,
Pain leaving, numbness overtaking
bloodless veins.
Heart monitor goes blank.
