Memories
We packed our bags and said goodbye to the only place we’ve ever known
12:05 p.m. the engines started and we were off
We saw the city in the distance, we knew we were there
The words welcome to Los Angeles echoed in our heads
The air was humid with summer and dreams
We looked out into the distance
Miles of miles of mountains and valleys
The whole world waiting for us to explore
We jumped into the fresh water
We felt the rush of the ocean hitting our legs
The sand stung against our sun-kissed skin
The taste of salt lingered on our tongues
We sat around and laughed
We knew things would never be like this again
But our footprints on the beach will fade away
But the memories we’ll never forget
