Innocence
You called it perfection,
But I think you used the word like a child,
For innocence, not malice, surely must have blinded you.
Now the hazy dreams of love have faded
Like another pre-dawn glow,
Succumbing to harsh daylight
Was our love just another figure of the night,
Distorting reality with its waning wisps of darkness
Because now I see where it all went wrong
Our dream was bound to end
The moment we trusted our lives in the hands of
Merciless illusion
