Not So Rosey

Life is like a rose,
When it's young it is hidden between two layers to protect it,
As it grows up it faces new challenges,
Every conflict gives it one more thorn to protect itself,
But when the stem is full with thorns,
The rose can't find the reason to stay in the sunlight,
But those thorns remind her that without them she wouldn't be so strong,
She would've quit long ago.
