Blind
I'm hurt
I might not look like that burnt stick on the road
It's edges notched, it's sap run dry
But I'm still in pain
Most days I might be covered
Changed into spring or summer
Always happy, always bright and warm
But then my wall drops
But can my wall drop?
It might when I'm alone
But can you see it when
It drops in a crowd?
Does anyone notice
The tough girl in pain
What does it take
A slash on my wrist
Or ear buds cranked up
Hidden by hair
Hidden by a hood
Like a cloud over a meadow
Dark and dead
But no one sees anymore
All they sense is words
Sounds and explosions
What if we're all in pain
And too afraid to show it?
