One of those days
My spirit was captured and beaten
 Tortured and wounded
Compressed with the weight of defeat
Tied up with the rope of her loneliness
 She fought and fought
 She screamed for hope
Hope was nowhere to be found
 Broken and hurt she cried
A river of misery and sorrow
Tied up with her own loneliness she was left to drown
She give up and sunk to the bottom
Into the open arms of surrender
It took a while but somehow strength came
 Swooping down into the water
Pulling her from the arms of its web
Together they burst out of the water
Into the smiling face of hope
 And beside her was happiness
 And laughter
 And ME
