The Day I Learned to Dance
It was one of those
 Early spring days
 The sun gave warmth
 To my heart
And the wind offered a chill
 To my bones,
 I didn’t need a jacket

 It was one of those
 Days after I splashed
 Frivolously in the skies tears
 In my golashes, regardless
Of the fact that the outfit
I had meticulously spent hours picking out
 Was drenched.

 It was one of those
 Days in which I knew
 Why the birds sang
 Why the squirrels frolicked

 It was one of those
 Days I wanted to cry out;
 Verbalize
 My utter and complete joy

 Yet
 It wasn’t just
 One of those days

 It was the day
 I learned to dance

 With the birds
 Song and the squirrels
 Prance around
 My feet;
 I was a mere
 Mockingbird, mimicking
  The beat of
 Nature
 Letting go
 Without a care
 Like the
 Birds, and the
 Squirrels.
