Moment In Time
Everyday I heed
the nails flicking
against the table.
Waiting for time
to pass by.
The resonance of my
mental clock,
seems slower than usual.
Once I close my eyes,
I wish they’d stay that way.
The feeling of seeing
my home.
Kids playing tag
around the block.
Full of grins and fun.
Parents giving their
sons and daughters
a push on park swings.
The pine trees scent
Spreading throughout
my neighborhood.
I feel like I am home.
The taste of my mother’s cuisine.
From chicken being seasoned
to lasagna made from scratch.
Finally it is finished,
and set to be served.
You can almost taste
all the ingredients.
I feel like I am home!
