The sun slips through the clouds
To say hello to the autumn trees.
You reach for my hand,
Only to miss and grab my heart.
As we lay in the grass,
Looking at the bright coulds
Floating high above us,
I listen to your heart stutter,
Your lungs colliding with you ribcage,
Your hair rustling in the wind.
You slowly begin to disappear,
First you lips,
Then your hair,
Your nose,
Your eyes;
I cry out.
Please do not leave me!
So little have I gotten to know you,
So little do I understand about you.
I hear you whisper:
Don’t cry for me,
I’ll see you in heaven someday.
My screams shatter the windows of the houses surrounding me.
I jump up, to find you.
Looking at me,
Smiling at me,
Coming towards me.
You wrap me in your warm arms.
“Not again?”
“The very same,” I say.
If you ever wonder how often
I fear the thought of losing you,
Well,
Every night,

Every hour,
Minute,
Second.
Who am I to be without you?
You make the sun shine every morning.
You make the stars shine at night,
You make the rain fall
When we are walking along the beach.

The moon,
The distance from Pluto
And back again.
