The piano plays in my heart, and the song doesn't change.
I get drunk off another cup of love, but it doesn't kill the pain.
So I stumble to the sink and pour it down the drain.
I hope when you see me, you realize what we had.
I look in the mirror, and realize I look like my past.
I heard that dreams can come true, I throw a penny in a wishing well.
Then I see you again, and wish you well.
Things happen in life that can't be explained.
Just because you get hurt, doesn't mean you should completely stop playing.
I close my eyes and try to open my heart.
Tears flood from everywhere, I guess that's a start.

I wrote it free handed, i didn't make any changes to it. I wrote what was in my heart at the moment. Please comment & enjoy.

Well written indeed. There are not a few clever lines, and they really dig deeply into the mind of the reader (at least, for me). The second line, the fifth line and the last two lines, I felt, were the most meaningful to me. I really liked this and enjoyed reading it, and was delighted to discover that you wrote it free handed and without changing it; that's really the best way to do it for this kind of poem.

I thought the metaphor was bittersweet. I liked it. Good job.

Awww! For some reason, I really liked this. :) I loved the few rhymes you had in there--it made it impacting. And the last line especially wrapped it up well. I can't believe you free-handed it! Well done!
