The ocean top is glassy
smooth as ice.
but under the surface
is a mess.
currents swirl the sand, spin the seaweed
chaos shielded by blue beauty.

It has deceived me
turned the tide
and slammed into my heart.
it is a lie, the sun spotted waves
that lap at my feet.

When I walked in
expecting cool calm
you pulled me under
took my breath away.
you left only darkness
and space.
