Finally, Listening
There’s something I can’t say
Something I’ve been holding in for a while
For too long
A secret of sorts
One I hate to keep
And you’re here now
You know things aren’t great
But I can’t find the words to say
Searching but not finding
I stumble and fall
Apparently that’s all I need
The words pour out
Like they never have before
The whole story is told
A nervous green
Flashes here and there
It isn’t easy at first
Letting you know
But it feels good to let it out
To have you hear me
I can tell you’re listening
You aren’t judging me
And for a moment
I wonder if you understand more than I think
But I look into your eyes
And I know things will be okay
You’re listening to me
And that’s everything I need
