Eight Years
Eight years
 Is how long it took
 To build our friendship
 On a foundation so solid
 Nothing
 Can ever destroy it

 Eight years
 We knew each other
 On the surface
 Never breaking through
 Because niether of us
 Needed to

 Eight Years
 Then one day we learned
 Of a connection
 Weak but present
 It broke our outer shells
 We thought had been invincible

 Eight Years
 And when we look back
 You confide in me that
 Our shells were so hard
 So impenetrable
 You thought I hated you

 Eight years
 Till we needed each other
 Till without one another
 We risked slipping
 Throught the cracks
 Never to return unchanged

 Eight years
 And now I know
We are each other's guardian angels
 Each other's wings
