"I was thinking how nothing lasts and what a shame that is."-Benjamin Button

I used to be
bubbly
The sadder you are, the prettier you look
Sad eyes set in a sad face
It’s the sun setting on a happier day
And as the night falls and brings in the storm
I grow colder
because there is no warmth
Socially outcasted because I love him
Made him move on because I love him

If this never sells
and I don’t make a single penny
Well, then you have to suffer for your art
and die for your pain

I am beautiful
They say
Like the beauty of this world
But just because something is beautiful, does that mean it doesn’t hurt?
Does a rose not prick?
Do I not have thorns to keep you all away?
But I have nothing of the sort
So you hurt me continuously
with never-ending cruelty

This world grows depressing
as I grow with it
That’s why the rose has thorns
Everyone wanted to tear her petals off
So she grew the thorns to make them stop!
I grew a barrier too
around my heart
So you won’t puncture my vessel
and make me bleed to death

Oh! But, how I can’t die!
No matter how I try
I’m still breathing immortally
The pain makes me so sick
that I’m barely alive
I’m alone and I’m barely alive
