The whole side behind the gate was ice
Glistening with a deviant smile
Hauling weather around
Enrapture of the grinding cotton
Splintering beneath rigid fingernails
Slick like an oily canvas
For miles and miles
A refraction stuck in the ground
Bouncing to the edges
No love, no sound
A cold heartless mound
