Umbra
The ship sailed through the rough dark waters
Followed by serpents we evaded swiftly
And our blades struck rapidly
But the Kraken struck the ship
Sinking
Sinking
Into the depths of misery
Drowning in a sea of euphoric depression
I float below the surface
Calling for help
Gasping for a breath of air
Doctors attempt a rescue
But the black ocean wards them away
A seraph angel attempts to break the tide
But the murky water just rolls onto the shore
And the best of me slips under the current
The barrier is broken and I stand face to face with myself
We look nothing alike
He glared with a gaze that could outlast time
And spoke in a distorted tone
Maliciously he stated
“In your heart as in this sea
You’re just a dream within a dream
Remove your anchor
From this earth
And be what shall be”
What a skeletal wreck of a man
Translucent flesh and feeble bones
They want to send me where they call home
Pervaded with depression,
I’m infested
Forsaken
Never to return
To a paradise of strangers
A paradise of strangers
Forever forgotten
