The Lovely Longing

A silent kiss upon the lips of lovely longing
My love, he has taken my heart and left a ransom note
He invited these words from my lips and made them dance out of my mouth
Our hearts have become one, beating together in the sound of a single drum
We will not build our Lord’s holy castle in the sand, for the ocean will wash it away,
Effervescent in its frothy undulation and swift departure
We will build His castle in our intertwined hearts, exquisitely and intricately pure
Delicately shaping it into perfect splendor
Intimately and uniquely symbolizing: us
