A Time to Listen
Pain plunges to the ground on a stained floor
 Flooded with memories
 Can’t bare it anymore
Shut everything out, and yet you follow
 Why did you come?
To see meaningless tears of sorrow
Hiding behind a mask of pretend
 An everyday ritual
A difficult game that has to end
 You ask me the matter
The first and only that will
 My emotions now scatter
 Still no judgement or question
Just the assurance that you care and
 Your genuine affection
I let down my shield once and for all
There is no longer need for it
You pick me up and help me stand tall
 There’s nothing to hide
We can now face our fears
 Standing side by side
