Loss Through a Lens
There roles around the loss of your first
Knowing that deep down another comes first.
You move in confusion with time flying by,
You grieve the recent one just a little more this time.
Yet remembering the one right before
You say to yourself which one comes first?
I say I miss u, but I miss u a little more.
The envy lacks the strike kicks back,
It’s a void, but increased even more.
The pain kicks in right here right there
Up there down here
At last everywhere.
But the void is still in bare,
No love nor fear could bring them back.
Just know one day the end kicks back,
The constant wanting the constant knowing
Even more near than an ounce over here.
They say a loss is like a scar,
You carry it around
But still see the mark.
You know their not here
But their stuff is near
And so they are near
Ounce more in here.
The righteous path is my faith in God
No one nor thing could break my back.
Take me back to my little self,
The constant feeling of dreading in time.
Now here I am carrying the scars
Carrying them proudly
Carrying them on.
You still feel still near still see still sincere
My two guardian angels right by me
With me right here.
You see to carry on carry on with a purpose
Prove them wrong
Do it for you and do it for them
For as long as you've got God
You have nothing to fear
Indeed the day will come
To see them near
And I will pray
Pray that I can
See them in heaven once again.

After losing my grandparents- one after the other, the only thing that kept me going was the power of poetry I envied and carried on with, and never let go till this day...
