Anxious feeling,hard to hide

Breathing fast, thoughts collide

Confused and worried.

Doubts and fear a storm inside.

Every task feels like a rush.

Feeling pressure, at a rapid pace.

Grades and dreams so far away.

Hopes slipping with each passing day.

Inside its heavy, hard to bear.

Judgment whispers always there.

Knots in stomach, thoughts pursued.

Lost in thoughts, restless sleep.

Mind is racing thoughts so deep.

Nerves on edge, minds in a haze.

Overwhelmed, in a maze.

Pressure builds, a heavy load.

Questions swirl, thoughts overload.

The author's comments:

This piece represents my experience with anxiety in school while struggling with mental health challenges. School often felt overwhelming, and writing this poem gave me a way to express the pressure and emotions I carried. It reflects what it felt like to live with anxiety as a student and to find a voice for those feelings through poetry.

My name is Shayna, and I am a high school student who enjoys writing poetry as a way to process emotions and experiences. I also love swimming, playing soccer, and expressing myself through creativity. Writing helps me share my story and connect with others who may feel the same.
