For me
Sleep is like a dead plant waiting for the warmth of the sun
During a dark wintry night.
Always waiting
To be brought back alive,
But the digits never tick by.
Laying awake
Staring at my ceiling.
Waiting for the morning sky,
To live yet another day
Of dreading the night.
Wondering if I even really live.
