I write my best poetry when my vision is blurry

I don't think id want to write it if I could really see it

My words on this computer arent worth anything

Unless you read between the lines not skim in a hurry

My work, a library of memories

Some I'm still dusting off, some on the shelves waiting to be read

Twiddling their thumbs just praying

Hoping to be picked so that the words can be bled

I write my best poetry when my eyes are still red

When im still shaking and gasping for breath

I dont know why im releasing all of this air to write

When I should be grasping and clasping with all my might

I write my best poetry when my arms are still sore

I write my best poetry when my face is still puffy

I write my best poetry when I'm choking on my own tears

I write best when I'm choking on the words I never got to say

This is better than trying to pray

This is better than what I've done and what ill do

This is better than that

I write my best poetry when I am still blinded by my own sorrow.
