Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Snow collects on our mushroom caps.
My stone-cold finger three times taps.
Heartbeat fast, and my breathing adapts.
Hot chocolate dinner delight
Our gaze shifts upwards for the night
Yet the star before me shines evermore bright.
Trees listen,
Smiles glisten,
And it makes me think about my beginning
While stopping by woods on a snowy evening.

My prompt was to write a poem based on a title given to me, so I did. I love the concept of sentient mushrooms because they're adorable, and they're cooler because they're on a date. :)
