Tiredness settles in,

Forcing my eyelids shut

Just a little longer

Only a little longer

I wait and I wait

For what?

For peace? For silence?

For the end?

I think about my time 

What have I done?

How have I lived?

Have I lived?

I must have

You have to live in order die

Right?

I close my eyes,

With a smile on my face

Breath by breath, I process,

I accept my fate

Commotion fills the room,

Beeping monitors, talking doctors

It’s useless, unnecessary racket

They know what's going to happen

I know what's going to happen

Because it's time

It’s MY time

And NO ONE will take that away from me
