Shoes
It doesn’t matter what shoes you wear
Whether they're red, green, or blue
They don’t define you
Your shoes don’t tell me who you are
Maybe I could guess but who's to say I’m right
My assumption may never reach the light
You could wear no shoes and I shouldn’t judge
Your feelings on the matter of shoes shouldn’t budge
Matter of fact don’t even look in my direction
Walk forward in your shoes of confirmation
Tread fast and never look back
The look on my face isn’t something you lack
People may whisper and maybe shout
But why should they be the reason you pout
If you hear them talk don’t give it much thought
Remember these lessons that I’ve taught
Your shoes are sturdy and strong
And even the people without shoes get along
Shoes come in all shapes and sizes
Sometimes it’s hard to find a pair that suffices
But at the end of the day they’re your own duo
How you wear your shoes shouldn’t make you feel low
