Hiding Within The Holocaust
Bushes,
churches,
attics and cellars,
keeping myself shushed.
From a paladin of Hell.
Enormously strong.
Neck hair stands
As I view the gun holding his hand.
Gassing,
Beating,
Working.
Keeping contrasting individuals passing.
Blue fire.
Limp bodies enter.
No longer seen.
Nor desired.
Death…
Nothing new here.
Bodies dragged.
Those dragging: Feared.
Fear…
Common feeling.
Eyes shake
As if they’re glass about to break.
Pain…
Heels are bleeding and bruised.
Cuts are greased.
Seen is bone
Exposed and yellowed.
